Singer and actress IU (Lee Ji-eun) donated for her birthday.
According to her agency EDAM Entertainment on May 16, IU delivered a total of 210 million won to the Snail of Love, the Korean Association of Single Mothers and Family Associations, Eden Ivy and Chang In-won, a social welfare corporation, on her birthday.
IU’s agency explained, “I spent a more meaningful birthday than ever with many fans who celebrated IU’s birthday by conveying their hearts to places where they need warm hands.”
The donation will be used for surgery and treatment for children and adolescents with hearing impairments, and will be used for financially struggling single-parent families, child care facilities in need, and support for disability protection facilities.
IU has been practicing constant sharing for needy neighbors under the name of “IUAENA,” which combines her name and fan club name on special anniversaries every year. In addition, he did not turn a blind eye to difficulties throughout the areas in need, but actively took the lead in donations and exerted good influence.
Meanwhile, IU is set to release her first commercial film, “Broker,” on June 8, and will step on the red carpet at the invitation of the 75th Cannes International Film Festival.
